Soundscape Talk and Workshop
Creative Media Zone invited local sound artist and field recordist AK Kan to share his experiences of curating local sound maps and the technique of sound recording. He also presented his experimental sound art on the immersive Soundscape system of Shaw Auditorium. In addition, AK also hosted a workshop that offered students the chance to record natural sounds around HKUST on different devices. Participants learned how to identify the best spots for sound recording, “observe” with their ears, and experience the mixture of changes and calmness in the natural world.
MTPC Drupal Training
Training workshops on Drupal website production were organized by MTPC in August for staff who are interested in acquiring basic knowledge of creating responsive Drupal websites, managing key elements of MTPC Drupal Builder, and updating and maintaining websites with photos, video, and textual content. The workshops were extremely well-received, with registration exceeding four to five times the original quota. Given the high demand, another round of Drupal training will be offered in mid-September for those on the waiting list. The workshop and subsequent survey also reflect the challenges faced by users in handling Drupal websites. MTPC will collaborate closely with ISO and ITSC to address the issues identified and raised during the workshops.
