More Digital Displays on campus
Since introducing digital displays on campus in 2025, MTPC has seen a steady increase in digital poster submissions from both university offices and student bodies. To increase digital poster coverage on campus, and after rounds of site observations and feasibility studies, two additional locations were selected for horizontal digital displays. They are located on the 1/F and 2/F of Academic Concourse, near Lecture Theater A, and at Engineering Common, respectively. The new locations were selected for their high foot traffic to maximise exposure of publicity messages to the HKUST community. All horizontal poster submissions will be automatically displayed on these new panels to create a holistic, immersive effect for the university’s publicity.
Event Production Website and Package Price
To meet growing demand for event publicity at the university, MTPC has built a dedicated website to showcase its design and production services and support for HKUST events. It provides a one-stop information hub covering a wide range of event support at MTPC, including event websites and registration, e-invitations and electronic direct mail, design of key visuals and their adaptation for banners, digital backdrops and posters, printing and production of event badges, labels, programme brochures, signage, customised trophies and awards, gifts and souvenirs, audiovisual set-up, and photo and video recording for the event.
MTPC also maintains a technical team in the Shaw Auditorium, offering production planning, coordination and scheduling, stage management and setup, theatre lighting, and AV operation for all events held there.
AI-assisted RVC Video Checking Mechanism
With the growing number of RVC videos produced during term time, and the need to speed up video quality checks before releasing them to faculty members, MTPC began deploying an AI-assisted mechanism to scan each RVC video for undesirable pauses, frozen images, and out-of-focus issues. The solution utilizes a local LLM hosted entirely on MTPC’s servers, ensuring that all video content remains securely in-house. In September 2026, the rate of videos identified with quality issues dropped significantly, from 7.6% to 0.6%, compared with the same period last year. This AI-assisted mechanism has greatly reduced the time and effort required for manual video checking while providing faster, more consistent, and more accurate quality assurance for the growing volume of recordings.
